Fujitsu Laptop Repair

FUJITSU LIFEBOOK A3130

I need help with a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook A Series laptop. The problem is that I was asked by Windows to upgrade the OS system CD. I did this, and then it wanted me to do something to the motherboard which also included reinstalling it. I got a software program for this from the internet, and downloaded all the files. There were so many of them I did not know which one I should install. In the end, I got help, and installed the file. This is where it gets odd, because the computer is now not booting up into Windows. It will get past the motherboard bit fine, which is what I would have expected to fail if I had done something wrong. Instead, once past BIOS, I get a message saying OS not found, please reboot. I do reboot, and the same thing happens. I don’t quite understand it, but I do know that I have a lot of information on the laptop that I really need to save.

I have a Fujitsu M series laptop which is not allowing me to install Ethernet controllers or drivers. I recently installed a new Windows OS, Windows 7, as I thought that the laptop could do with updating. It was running very slow previously, particularly on the internet, so I bought a Windows 7 CD, and installed it directly over the XP. This fixed the problem for a few weeks but now I cannot boot into windows, it blue screens about 20 seconds into the boot process.

Fujitsu laptops are, unfortunately, like all others in that they experience their own problems when it comes to hard disk drives and their ability to store information on them. This is down in no small part to a series of scenarios that arise as they might with other brands.

Overuse is one scenario that can cause hard drive problems; leaving laptops and desktop computers powered on for overlong periods can lead to overheating and eventually the dislodging of spindles within the hard drive which lead to what is known as ‘Head Crash’.

A considerable number of older Fujitsu hard drives suffer from a problem caused by the use of Cirrus Logic Chips that had problems of their own that lead to faults. Invariably these faults lead to the hard drives not spinning up or spinning up to a certain point and then hanging.

Once this problem was discovered and dealt with by the manufacturer they tried a different approach to their business model and stopped the manufacture of 3.5 inch hard drives altogether, moving into the area of laptops where they have had marginally more success.

They have, however, still had their problems and some of their laptop hard drives still can behalf in a rather erratic manner either refusing to spin up altogether or making loud clicking or ticking sounds that indicate the problem of damaged platters.

Another common issue with Fujitsu disks is the magnetic media that covers the platters inside them. Over the lifecycle of the disk this magnetic coating can wear away – faster if the computer is used for prolonged periods or left switched on and unattended. When this coating wears away the platters become unstable and find it difficult to revolve which makes for the production of bad sectors.

These bad sectors are then in turn responsible for making it difficult if not impossible to start up the laptop’s operating system.

Special attention must be paid to these drives if the information contained therein is to be recovered and it is advisable to seek the help of a professional organization such as www.https://www.aberdeen-datarecovery.co.uk.

One should err on the side of caution when it comes to problems with such disks as leaving them unattended for too long can make it difficult for the retrieval of the information on said disks as time goes on.
