Moray Data Recovery

Data Recovery Moray: Helping our clients for over 16 years recover data from a whole host of storage devices such as hard drives, external hard disk drives, RAID arrays, Network Assisted Storage (NAS) as well as USB storage devices including memory sticks and memory cards. For further information on how we can retrieve your lost or inaccessible data call us today on 01224 452094.

Many small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as a long of sole traders have now turned to RAID arrays as a means of storing their data. Using such setups allow them to access their data whilst making changes which are instantly saved to ensure the most up-to-date data storage possible. However, as our data recovery Moray engineers know, sometimes a drive within a RAID setup can fail which can cause the mirroring and striping process to fail or become less stable than normal. This is also possible as the result of problems with a controller card or software controller.

As the technology has become more affordable so more and more of our clients have turned to it as a means of storing their information and as such we find that our data recovery Moray engineers are called upon more frequently to help with issues caused by the failure of a RAID device or indeed the after effects of replacing a faulty RAID drive. Even with many of today’s RAID arrays having a so-called ‘hot swap’ feature (removing and replacing a drive whilst the rest of the array continues to work) this is not always successful.

It is with this in mind that our data recovery engineers are called upon to help with RAID recovery and also the rebuild process after the recovery of data from a failing RAID device.

RAID 0 Failure

RAID 0 is amongst the most common RAID option used by many small to medium sized businesses and individual users. The reasoning behind this is that it is considered easier to run a single unit with up to five drives inside including the ‘hot swap’ feature. However as our data recovery Moray engineers can attest it is not always the case that the ‘hot swap’ works especially if it has been mistakenly diagnosed as a drive error when the controller card or software controller is at fault.

If you are using a RAID 0 setup and are having problems with a drive upon which your data is stored then call us today on 01224 452094. Our data recovery Moray technical team is on hand to provide help and advice as well as diagnose the problem. They can also provide you with a no obligation quote for recovering your data as well as helping with the rebuild process. They will talk you through an initial assessment and explain our quote (which may include an additional charge if the drive has suffered mechanical damage) as well as our No Fix No Fee guarantee. If you are happy with the quote and the diagnosis and wish us to proceed we ask that you send the drive to us (we use the drive only to recover the data and do not require the entire array) at our data recovery centre.

Having received your faulty drive our data recovery Moray team will make a firm diagnosis of the problem and report back to you via email including a list of all the files and folders to be recovered. If this meets with your approval we will ask that you make payment to us via BACS or credit/debit card (this may include an additional charge for an external storage device if the volume to be recovered is larger than our included 30GBs) and upon receipt of payment we will recover your data to its new media. The data will then be returned to you via next day courier. For more information on how we can recover data from a faulty RAID setup and the different levels of recovery we offer, call us today on 01224 452094 and speak to a member of our team. Our lines are open from 9am to 6pm (Monday to Friday) as is our data recovery centre.
