A single dead member silences a RAID 0 completely. Silenced and erased are not the same thing. Send the complete set. Each disk is imaged, the geometry of the stripe is deduced from those images, and RAID 0 data recovery reassembles your files entirely in software, without a single write reaching your disks.

A stripe scatters every file in fragments over the whole set and keeps nothing back for emergencies. The volume therefore lives no longer than its unluckiest disk, and RAID 0 data recovery starts from that fact.
Files exist only as fragments distributed over every disk, so one failure silences the lot. Imaging the complete set and putting those fragments back together in software is the way through.
No parity, no mirror, and that absence is exactly what bought the speed. A stripe cannot regrow a piece of itself, which leaves careful imaging as the only honest route back.
A failed controller, bridge or enclosure regularly strands a perfectly good set. The job then is to read each disk out, deduce the striping used, and raise the volume on the images.
Re-creating the set, or a firmware stumble, wipes the values describing how the stripe was built. Rebuild on the wrong ones and the result reads as noise, so the right values are recovered from the images.
Because data is interleaved, a single cluster of failing sectors takes a bite out of hundreds of unrelated files. Lab imagers harvest every readable sector round the damaged area.
Aim format, initialise or repair at a broken stripe and whatever layout evidence survives is flattened. If that has happened already, stop there and pull the power.
A stripe duplicates nothing, so each disk carries material that exists nowhere else on earth. Each is imaged on lab hardware, with a physically failed member going to the clean bench first, and the images then yield the three facts a reconstruction needs: disk order, block size, and the offset where striping begins. Software assembles the set, raises a file system over it, and the files come off. Nothing is ever written to an original.
A striped set repairs nothing by itself, and a disk that has begun to fail surrenders a little more of itself with each spin-up. The right response is a dull one. Switch the whole set off. Stay clear of anything labelled initialise or repair, because both write over records a reconstruction has to read. Send the set exactly as you found it.

Still bolted into a laptop, desktop, MacBook, iMac, server or CCTV / DVR box? Get the hard drive or SSD out first. The bare drive travels on its own. Stripping machines down is not a job this lab takes on. Flash soldered to a motherboard, as on Apple Silicon Macs and a couple of very thin laptops, is our one flat no: if it will not unbolt, it cannot be worked on.
